Program Overview
Data Science is about extracting knowledge from data so that businesses and society can make evidence-based decisions, and communicating what the data shows. The programme covers statistics, data analysis, mathematical modelling, programming and machine learning, applied to data such as financial markets, healthcare, consumer behaviour and climate change. The English-taught programme is aimed at international students and is academically the same as AU's Danish-taught Datavidenskab; both lead to the same English-taught master's degree in Data Science. How competitive: in 2026, places awarded on grades (quota 1) went to applicants from about 42 IB points (a Danish GPA of 11.2). The other places (quota 2) are assessed on the grades in the programme's key subjects and relevant experience, where any Diploma holder (24 points) can compete.
