Program Overview
The interdisciplinary Bachelor's program in Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning is devoted to the interpretation, development and design of landscapes. How TUM decides: an aptitude assessment. TUM's score out of 100 weights your IB total, converted to a German grade, at 55% and your grades in German or English (×2) and one of biology, social studies, geography or art (×3) at 30%, and relevant activities outside school at 15%. A score of 72 or more admits you, below 55 does not, and in between you are invited to an interview. On TUM's formula, with 6s in those subjects and no relevant activities outside school, an IB total of 38 or more passes outright, and 28 or below is turned down (our calculation from TUM's rules, not a figure TUM publishes). Teaching is in German. Your IB proves your German only with German A at HL; otherwise TUM asks for a certificate such as DSH-2, TestDaF with 4 in all four parts, or telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule.
