Life Sciences Nutrition

Program Overview

Organic, vegan or personalized nutrition? How can nutrition promote health and prevent diseases such as obesity, diabetes, or cancer? In the Life Sciences Nutrition Bachelor's degree program, you will learn about the influence of different foods on our body and how they control it. How TUM decides: an aptitude assessment. TUM's score out of 100 weights your IB total, converted to a German grade, at 50% and your grades in maths and your best science (biology, chemistry or physics) at 50%. A score of 88 or more admits you, 65 or less does not, and in between you are invited to an online test. On TUM's formula, with 6s in those subjects, an IB total of 41 or more passes outright, and 27 or below is turned down (our calculation from TUM's rules, not a figure TUM publishes). Teaching is in German. Your IB proves your German only with German A at HL; otherwise TUM asks for a certificate such as DSH-2, TestDaF with 4 in all four parts, or telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule.
