Program Overview
This course is suitable for you if you have a strong interest in sport and exercise science and wish to pursue a career in high performance sport, a clinical profession (e.g. physiotherapy, dietetics, medicine) and/or scientific research in sport and health sciences. Led by top industry professionals in state-of-the-art facilities, you will study the scientific principles underlying the promotion and enhancement of sport, physical health and exercise across the lifespan. Please note that the BSc Sport, Health & Exercise Science course replaced the BSc Health & Performance Science course in September 2025. How competitive: applicants from the EU apply through the CAO and are ranked on points. In round 1 of 2026, places went to applicants with 532 points or more. UCD does not publish how it scores the IB. On Trinity College Dublin's indicative scale for the IB, that is about 40 points, or about 37 with Higher Level Mathematics at 4 or better, which adds 25. Applicants from outside the EU apply to UCD directly, where 35 points makes them eligible to compete for a place.
