Program Overview

Geography is a discipline inherently suited to addressing current and future societal challenges. It asks questions about how and why human, physical, and environmental phenomena vary across space and time. Geography is intrinsically interdisciplinary and, as the world becomes increasingly interconnected, geographers are well placed to bring their understanding and skills to bear on social and environmental issues. How competitive: applicants from the EU apply through the CAO, and each Joint Honours pair of subjects is ranked on points. In round 1 of 2026, the pairs with Geography took from 367 to 613 points, depending on the other subject. On Trinity's indicative scale for the IB, 367 is about 25 points, and anything above 600 needs Higher Level Mathematics at 4 or better, which adds 25: 613 took about 44 points with it. Applicants from outside the EU apply to Trinity directly and are assessed individually.
