Marine Sciences

Program Overview

This program provides comprehensive training in the study of oceans and marine ecosystems. Students learn about marine biology, oceanography, marine geology, and coastal management. The curriculum combines field work with laboratory research to prepare graduates for careers in marine research, environmental consulting, fisheries management, and conservation organizations. How competitive: Catalan universities rank applicants on an admission mark out of 14, and in June 2026 the last place in the first allocation went at 9.744. With UNEDasiss accreditation an IB Diploma counts as your average subject grade plus 3 (a 6 in every subject gives 9), so 9.744 took about 41 points from the six subjects. UNEDasiss's specific competence tests (PCE) add up to 2 points each (the best two count) in subjects this degree weights at 0.2, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
