Biomedical Engineering

Program Overview

This degree course is designed to provide the student with substantial interdisciplinary training. First-year students will soon be involved in bringing together their studies in engineering, physics and mathematics with studies in biology and medicine, developing the knowledge and skills base to work in the following areas: Problem-solving procedures in the area of biomedicine, R&D procedures in the interface between engineering and biomedicine, and the professional skills required in companies, hospitals, research centres and public agencies dedicated to biomedicine. How competitive: Catalan universities rank applicants on an admission mark out of 14, and in June 2026 the last place in the first allocation went at 12.255. With UNEDasiss accreditation an IB Diploma counts as your average subject grade plus 3, so it gives at most 10: to reach 12.255, an IB applicant also needs UNEDasiss's specific competence tests (PCE), which add up to 2 points each (the best two count) in subjects this degree weights at 0.2, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
