Program Overview

To acquire the knowledge required to identify living beings, in their different degrees of organization and diversity: definition and origin of life, chemical structure of living beings, types and degrees of organization, genetics and inheritance mechanisms and biodiversity, evolutionary mechanisms and development. To recognize different activities undertaken by living beings and the underlying mechanisms to these tasks: metabolism, replication, transcription, translation and modification of genetic material, cell signalling, regulation and integration of physiological processes. To learn to recognise, analyse and interpret the adaptive responses of living organisms to surrounding conditions. How competitive: Catalan universities rank applicants on an admission mark out of 14, and in June 2026 the last place in the first allocation went at 10.682. With UNEDasiss accreditation an IB Diploma counts as your average subject grade plus 3, so it gives at most 10: to reach 10.682, an IB applicant also needs UNEDasiss's specific competence tests (PCE), which add up to 2 points each (the best two count) in subjects this degree weights at 0.2, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
